Covid-19 New Procedures

Hoults Removals has changed its procedures during this global pandemic to keep its customers and its removal teams safe.

New Health Checks

Before your survey, we will ask you some questions about your underlying health, which will include whether you have symptoms of Covid-19, have a temperature or are self isolating.

Free contactless video surveys

We now offer a survey via video survey, which means we don’t have to visit your property to view your goods. If you do wish to have an on site survey, our surveyors will wear PPE and will ensure they are two metres away from you at all times.

    New PPE on move day

Our crews will be wearing PPE to protect you from infection and to reduce the risk of transmission.

If your move requires more than a two man crew, the third team member will arrive on separate transport rather than place three men in the confined space of a vehicle.

We will discuss your removal with you ahead of move day to understand the layout of your new property.

It would be helpful to see a floor plan if you have a copy on record from the sale or rental of your property. We will discuss the layout of the rooms at your new property.

On Move Day your team leader will discuss the move with you while observing social distancing measures

For your protection, we will ask you to vacate the property during the removal or, if not possible, to remain in one room or the garden or to agree social distancing measures, remaining 2 metres away from the removal team at all times.

Please make washing facilities available to our team

Please give our team access to washing facilities so your Hoults Removal team can frequently wash hands throughout the move. The team will bring their own soap.

The removal team will sanitise the removals vehicle throughout the day.

    At your new address

When you receive your keys, the team will confirm layout of your property to ensure the accurate placement of items in their designated rooms.

Following the placement of furniture and cartons, the team will ask you to view the delivery property while the operational team vacate the property.

If there are changes to be made, these will be agreed with the team.

The team will leave your paperwork at a place to be agreed with you and ask you to use your own pen to sign.

These guidelines are compliant with those issued by the Government and the British Association of Removers. Our removal teams have had training on how to work safely within the close quarters of your home to ensure your safety. This includes safe use of PPE, frequent washing of hands, sanitising vehicles, and the washing of uniforms daily at high temperatures. Thank you for helping us to operate your removal during these difficult times, if you have any questions about these procedures please contact your move manager.
