The best places to live in Newcastle for couples

For first time buyers or home movers some of the best places to live are:

  • Fenham. Fenham is a large residential area, located just two miles away from Newcastle, making it the perfect location to live if you want to be close to city centre. It is also a great place to live as the people are known to be very friendly and it is very well served with an array of shops, pubs and restaurants. 
  • Jesmond. This has to be one of the most reputable suburbs of Newcastle due to it's lively local atmosphere and range of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from. It is the perfect place to live if you are looking for somewhere quieter to settle down in, with plenty of parks, gardens and museums to enjoy at the weekend.
  • Gosforth. Gosforth is situated north of the city centre and is renowned for it's fascinating history, which dates back to 1166. This is a great place to live if you are looking to work in business, as it is home to a large business complex where you will even find HM Revenue & Customs. 
  • Quayside. Joining Newcastle & Gateshead, the well-known area of Quayside is a great place to live for couples as there are so many restaurants, bars and nightclubs to enjoy whilst socialising with family and friends.  As well as this, it is a great location especially if you are looking for employment opportunities within the industrial and commercial dockside. 

The best places to live in Newcastle for families 

Last year Newcastle was actually named among one of the 10 best places to raise a family in the UK, but which areas are the most suitable?: 

  • Gosforth. This city suburb is home to many reputable private schools,  secondary schools and academies, therefore making it a great place to live allowing your children to thrive in their educational opportunities. 
  • Heaton. Heaton is a great area to live in for families as there is so much to do here, from musical and theatre to an array of food and drink options. It is also known to be one of the most fun and lively places to live, which sounds like the perfect place to raise and nurture a family. 

The best places to live in Newcastle for professionals 

  • Sandyford. Being only a 10 - 15 minute walk from Newcastle city center, this area is perfect for young professionals who are looking to live somewhere not too far from the workplace. The transport links into the city are also very good, so you will always have a reliable back up option if you roll out of bed too late!
  • Jesmond. This area is also within walking distance of the city centre and therefore is very popular with young professionals. It is the perfect place to live if you want to live away from the hustle and bustle of busy Newcastle. 
  • Quayside. The Quayside is locates along the cities stunning waterfront and is a great place for young professionals to live as there are some great socialising opportunities here. It is home to numerous bars, restaurants and even landmarks.
